A short record of what enters Alethecs, what happens to it, and what doesn't.
Your account information stays with Alethecs. Investigation material is processed to produce your result, and relevant text may be shared with the services identified below. We don't sell your data.
What we collect
Only what is needed to run your account and investigations.
Account detailsYour email, plus either your password hash or the name and email provided through Google sign-in.
Case dataLinks, messages, documents, claims, evidence, and generated answers belonging to your investigations.
Technical logsIP address and browser information, kept briefly for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
What we don't do
No advertising trackersWe don't follow you around the web for ads.
No data salesYour information is never sold or rented.
No case-content trainingYour investigation content isn't used to train models beyond what is required to produce your result.
Who else sees it
Investigation text may be sent to Google Gemini for analysis, Tavily for web search, and WalterWrites for the AI-detection check. Each service receives only the information required for its task, not your name, email, or account details. Their own privacy policies govern what happens after they receive a request.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. No cross-site tracking, advertising cookies, or fingerprinting scripts.
How long we keep it
Case data stays under your account until you delete it or close your account. If you investigate without an account, we don't retain it longer than necessary to show your result.

Changes to this policy
Changes are posted here with an updated date. Meaningful changes, such as adding a new outside service, will be described plainly.
